March Reading Challenges and Events

Looking at March, here are the major book awards that will be announced this month, along with a collection of reading challenges that you can participate in.

Book Awards in March 2024

🕮 2024 Audie Award Award Winners announced on March 4, 2024. The Audie Awards® is the premier awards program in the United States recognizing distinction in audiobooks and spoken-word entertainment.

🕮 National Book Critics Circle Awards Winners will be announced on Mar. 21, 2024. Each year, the National Book Critics Circle presents awards for the finest books published in English.

🕮 The Writers’ Prize (formerly The Rathbones Folio Prize) Category Winners & Book of the Year will be announced 13th March 2024. These awaards are open to all works of literature written in English and published in the UK.

🕮 Libby Book Awards aka the “Libbys” will be presented on March 12th, 2024. The inaugural Libby Book Awards will feature books chosen and voted upon by librarians across 17 categories.

🕮 The Story Prize winner – March 26, 2024. The Story Prize is an annual book award honoring the author of an outstanding collection of short fiction

March Reading Events

🕮 Reading Ireland Month – This will be the TENTH annual Reading Ireland Month! Celebrate all that is good about Irish books and culture.

🕮 Middle Grade March – Middle Grade books are books with the intended audience of kids ages 8-12. But at Middle Grade March believe a good mg book can be enjoyed by kids and adults alike. Join in the fun on Instagram with #middlegrademarch 2024 prompts, group read or #middlegrademarch bingo card,

🕮 Spring Bingo Reading Challenge – A bingo style reading challenge with just 6 reading prompts.

#Bookstagram Challenges

#AlltheBooksMar24 – share a photo for each daily prompt using the monthly hashtag. Check the hashtag to see all of the photos that have been shared for the challenge. Fee free to post and interact as little or as much as you’d like.

#LMSMarch2024 – one-word prompts for each day. As always, the prompts are up for interpretation, so have fun with it!

#SpringIn2Books2024 – Get into a “Spring” state of mind through reading books for these March and Spring themed prompts.

#BookishFriendsMar24 – A fun photo reading challenge prompt

#StorieswithStephMar24 – March’s book photo challenge is inspired by the fantasy genre.
