How has your reading month? What was your favorite read?
Favorite Book Read in January
I read 4 books in January, plus a series of short stories. My favorite read for the month was The Hallmarked Man (Cormoran Strike #8), Robert Galbraith. This was the first book I read for the year, and I’ve read and loved all the books in the series. It left me looking forward to the next one, and Strike still remains one of my favorite fictional detectives.
I also completed books for the January prompts of the 2 reading challenges we host – 2026 Key Word and Motif Reading Challenge and took off an unread book from my shelves (Luster, Ravens Leilani).

February Reading Plans
February is Black History Month in the US, and it’s the month I focus most of my reading on books written by Black authors. I’m starting the month off reading Jamaica Road, Lisa Smith and so far I’m loving it.
I’m also headed to my local library this week for a National African American Read-In. We’ve been asked to participate by bringing a 2-3 minute reading from any material written by an African American. I’m taking What Color Is My World?: The Lost History of African-American Inventors, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar and Raymond Obstfeld (Illustrated by A.G. Ford and Ben Boos).
