Book Awards

🕮 American Library Association (ALA) Youth Media Awards will be announced on Jan. 22, 2024. Reading Challenges

First Book of 2024 is the first book you plan on reading in the New Year. It can be a long-coveted read you have not had time for, a guilty pleasure read like a re-read of a favorite. Once you have picked what it will be send a picture to the First Book host at Book Journey. On January 1st, she will post all the pics in a collage format of all of you around the world that are doing First Book. You have between now and December 31st to send in your choice.

☆ The Bout of Books Readathon is a week long readathon that runs from Jan. 1-7, 2024 starting at 12:01 AM in YOUR time zone. Bout of Books is low-pressure. There are reading sprints, daily Discord questions, and exclusive Instagram challenges, but they’re all completely optional.

The Japanese Literature Challenge runs from January through February, 2024. Read as many books as you like, which have been translated from Japanese, although only one is “required.”

January Bookish First Bingo is a bingo style challenge hosted monthly.
